A Paw Park for your best friend,
and the rest of the park offers organized softball and soccer
leagues throughout the year for a variety of ages. The large
fenced area has covered picnic tables, a treed area, benches, a
drinking fountain for dogs and waste disposal bags. A separate
fenced area with a covered picnic table, and additional bench
seating reserved for small dogs and their people.
Location: 17th Street Park (including Miss Sarasota Softball,
17th Street Soccer and 17th Street Adult Softball) is a 96-acre
park located on 17th Street, between Honore Avenue and Beneva
Road.
Planned Improvements: renovation of existing lighting of the
three primary fields at the complex with the installation of new
poles and fixtures.

Paw Park: a Paw Park area has covered picnic tables, a drinking
fountain for dogs and waste disposal bags. For small dogs and
their owners there is a separate fenced area with a covered
picnic table and additional bench seating.
History: the adult softball complex was constructed in 1993 and
the soccer fields were completed in 1995. The paw park was the
first paw park in the county when it was completed in 1999.
Since that time three additional paw parks have been
constructed.

Brohard Beach and Paw Park

Brohard Beach is located in the
southern most part of the city of Venice, on the Venice Airport
property on Harbor Drive.
A watering hole quenches thirst, a penalty box for those that
get a little too frisky, a hitching post, and picnic tables are
just a few of the amenities awaiting you and your favorite furry
friend Brohard Dog Beach and Paw Park. The paw park has a
separate area for small dogs, picnic tables, benches, waste
disposal. The boardwalk leads pets and their people to the only
dog friendly public beach in the area. Dogs are permitted in a
restricted area along the beach, but have the run of the Gulf of
Mexico.
