Venice Beach is
located at the west end of Venice Ave. one mile west of Business
41. The beach is owned by the City of Venice and operated by
Sarasota County. If you enjoy diving in your leisure time, a
reef containing fossilized material is located a quarter mile
offshore making it a favorite spot for local divers.

This is one of
the sites operated and maintained by Sarasota County through
an Interlocal Agreement with the city of Venice that has
been in effect since 1978.

Venice enhanced Venice Beach by coordinating the sand
re-nourishment program in 1994.(city owned, county operated)
