The Sarasota County
Law Library is a reference library available for anyone to use
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Books cannot be checked out
from the library.
- The library has regional
reporters, legal encyclopedias, forms books, and treatises.
- Access is also available to
Lois Law, an online legal database, which is free.
- Four computers are available
for public use.
- Copies are 25 cents per
page.
- Staff does not offer legal
interpretation of any law.
The Sarasota County Law Library
was established Aug. 15, 1959 by a special act of the Florida
Legislature. It is a dependent special district managed by a
board of directors. Two full-time librarians assist the public
and lawyers.
