Affairs pension benefits are processed the Sarasota County
Veterans Affairs. Pension benefits are payable to wartime
veterans that are unable to work because of a qualifying
disability which need not be service-connected.
Pension is available to veterans,
surviving spouses and children, if the veteran has qualifying
service and there is a financial need. The benefits are based on
a claimant's income and various other criteria.
