Project
Update – October 2009
County
staff and the project consultant (DMK Associates) presented
the
feasibility report, project design and cost estimates to
property owners at a meeting in February 2006. The required
number of petitions needed for the project to proceed was
received by the county in October 2006. The project was
authorized by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection
in September 2007.
The Sea Plume
Way project has been bundled with two other dredging projects.
Should the county receive an acceptable bid, the Sea Plume Way
project will either be the second or third project dredged. By
bundling the project with others, it is anticipated that a cost
savings will be realized through a reduced
mobilization/demobilization cost. In addition, the timeline to
commencement of
construction of the Sea Plume Way project should be greatly
reduced. |
