Project Update – October 2009

The feasibility report was completed in May 2008. The report includes the feasibility report for the Forked Creek North Branch project since the Dale Lakes project area is upstream of the North Branch project area. The Dale Lakes project will not connect to navigable water unless the North Branch project is completed.

At a June 12, 2008, neighborhood meeting, county staff and the project consultant (DMK Associates) discussed the project with property owners.

In August 2008, county staff determined that the boat lots associated with the Blue Dolphin Estates subdivision cannot be legally accessed. Therefore, those properties have been dropped from the project unit.

In early September 2008, a Project Unit Approval Petition was sent by certified mail to the 60 benefiting property owners. In order for the project to proceed, 67 percent of those property owners must sign, notarize and return the petition to the county. The required number of petitions is 40. To date 14 completed petitions have been received.
