Sarasota County
has approximately 74,000 water connections, 57,000 sewer
connections and 3,000 reuse connections. Our water service began
in 1975 and include:
- wells
along University Parkway (six wells mixed with Manatee
County water);
- wells on
the T. Mabry Carlton Jr. Reserve (which includes our
treatment plant that uses electro dialysis reversal
processing);
- Venice
Gardens well fields (which includes our treatment plant that
uses reverse osmosis processing); and
- purchased
water from Manatee County and Peace River/Manatee Regional
Water Supply Authority.
Sarasota
County’s sewer services began in 1988. We have eight wastewater
treatment plants.
