• Central drinking water is now ready in the areas identified above. A safe, reliable water supply is available. These residents will no longer have to worry about salt-water intrusion, droughts or mineral deposits in laundry and hot water tanks.
• It was a two year project, scheduled from June 2007 until June 2009. The project was complete in January 2009, six months ahead of schedule.
• Assessment dollar amounts will not exactly be known until the completion of construction.

Construction is now beginning in the Northeast section (see map below)

• Construction is expected to be complete in January, 2010.
• The final costs of construction will not be known until the project is complete, but a portion of the assessment cost will be funded from the county's penny surtax (1-cent sales tax).
• The contractor, Stately Contractors, Inc. is working in the Northeast Nokomis area. As work comes closer to your house, a green door hanger and a flag will be distributed. Please read the information.
• Property owners, via the door hanger, will be asked to place the flag in the yard near the edge of the road to indicate where they would like the water meter. If no flag is placed in the yard, experienced crews will select the most logical location.
• During construction, temporary occasional driveway and lane closures will be necessary. Flagmen will be present to direct traffic when necessary.
• Work will not be done on your private property, but in the adjacent county right of way or easements near the road.
