| Sarasota County Air Quality regulates
demolitions throughout the county and its municipalities.
County Code 54-119(c) 1 incorporates federal
and state rules requiring a Notice of Asbestos Renovation Or
Demolition form received in the Air Quality office 10 working
days prior to demolition.
Regulated demolitions include all commercial
and public facilities, including, but not limited to, a private
residence in a dwelling of more than four units, a private
residence that was ever used as commercial and a development
project involving demolition of two or more residences.
An asbestos survey is required prior to
demolition.
