New Siesta Beach Site (Wood)

Closed on property purchase. No additional ESP work required. Funds to be reallocated to other Parks Surtax projects. ESP element of project complete.

Street Tree - Tree Canopy Program

Various checkbook projects completed w/ongoing establishment periods (Oxford Drive, Palm Terrace, Oak Terrace, Kensington Park), under construction (East Venice), and in design (Fruitville East, Jacaranda roundabout, N. Cattlemen, Fruitville-Cob-Deb, Honore, Gulf Gate, Beneva, Old Miakka and Honore 5). Design and construction authorizations continue through existing continuing services contracts and annual agreements.

Beach Access Improvements / Shoreline Access Phase I

Siesta Beach Improvements (design)

Two-phase PSRC design selection process. first PSRC (short-list top three) was on 9/14. The second PSRC (oral presentations from top three) on hold due to protest. Protest denied at 10/ 28 BCC. second PSRC scheduled for Nov. 4.

Transit Stop Improvements

Fruitville Road Coburn Sarasota Center

Construction contract for phase 1 from Debrecen to east of Tatum was awarded on July 21; phase 1 construction duration is 8 months. Phase 2 construction from East of Tatum to Coburn Road was awarded on Sept. 8.  

Honore Bee Ridge to Fruitville

The contract for final design and construction was awarded on 7/21/09. The bridge construction is scheduled to start the week of Nov. 2.  Substantial completion by Feb. 2011.  

Sidewalks Bee Ridge/Wilkinson

Final completion certification in progress.

Sidewalks Gulf Gate

Construction contract was awarded June 9, 2009. Construction is underway, Substantial completion by 12/16/09.  

Sidewalks North Sarasota

SWFWMD permit has been approved. ROW acquisition currently in progress.  Necessity of Resolution to the Board on 12/8/09. The project is scheduled to advertise in Feb. 2010.

Sidewalks PCSSRP Area D

Sidewalk construction started 4/27/09. Construction ends April 2010.  

Road Resurfacing- Surtax 3

All the resurfacing projects have been substantially completed. Additional streets have been added to the Beneva Road and Lockwood Ridge resurfacing contracts. APAC is currently working on Lychee Road, the last street on the added list.

LFA with FDOT was approved by the Board on Oct. 13, 2009.  Funding is being transferred to FDOT.
