Environmentally Sensitive Lands Oversight Committee (ESLOC)
Governing Legislation:
Ordinance No. 99-004, 2007-021, 2007-070 and Resolution 2007-211
Purpose: The Sarasota County Commissioners established the Environmentally Sensitive Lands Oversight Committee (ESLOC) in 1999 to fulfill the county's Comprehensive Plan mandate to protect natural areas from adverse impacts by identifying and reviewing environmentally sensitive lands and making land acquisition recommendations.
Requirements: Ten members as follows: - three with experience/knowledge of business and development
- three with experience/knowledge of the environment
- three at-large residents
- one STAR representative
Term: Three years
Meetings: First Thursday of each month at 2:30 p.m.
