Human Services Advisory Council
Governing Legislation:
Res. 2003-054
Purpose: To provide a conduit for citizen input to the County Commissioners regarding Contracted Human Services and to provide advice and make recommendations to the commissioners on Human Services policy.
Members: 21 members, initially staggered, as follows:
- One School Board member
- One Sheriff representative
- One psychiatrist, psychologist, or clinical social worker
- One local grantor entity representative serving the entirety of the County
- One local grantor entity representative primarily serving south county
- One Sarasota Openly Plans for Excellence (SCOPE) representative
- Three business / financial community representatives
- One Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed to practice in Florida
- One Students Taking Active Roles in Government (STAR) representative
- Four consumer / client advocate representatives
- Five Citizen-At-Large representatives
- One youth representative
Term: Three years
